tri delta happenings....(formal!!!)

another set of things to mention...
-On Thursday was the Dawg Pound end of the year party, and there was voting for fan of the year. I swear I didn't ask anyone to do anything, and I got three nominations anyway while everyone else got one, haha. I felt so loved :-)

I ended up winning fan of the year thanks to my sisters coming along and voting for me!!!

-Also, last week I got dragged into doing a stroll, which is a line dance that the historically black fraternities and sororities do, and they invited the panhellenic houses to come and try to stroll for their charity. I have to admit, it was pretty darn fun!!! We didn't win the competition, but we had a blast doing it! Here is a video of us doing our final practice...so funny because I'm not the best dancer...haha

Here is a picture of a few of us right before we went on!

-Last but not least, or formal was on Friday, and I brought my bud Alan along with me. I had a blast! I'll let the pictures do all the talking...

-After the formal, I decided to take the drunk bus to broadripple to go visit my big sis...and that turned into quite the adventure! First of all, when me and Scolesies were getting off of the bus, a ton of my sisters were getting on to the bus...and of course, that was a photo op...haha

Long story short, we missed the last bus back to Butler, so we helped my big close Ripple Bagel and Deli and ended up riding home with her at about 4:30 in the morning!!! Good times...

Theres Laura, by big, after making me 2 yummy kraut dogs :-)

All in all, it was a pretty sweet weekend :-)

i love my sisters!!!

few things to mention...

-I was looking through pictures on facebook and I came across this one...and I really liked it. It is a picture of us doing touchdown celebrations after we won the SNUper Bowl. This particular dance was called 'bowling,' and we all fell down when our quarterback rolled the football into us...it looked pretty sweet! However, the main reason I like this picture is because our house is seen clearly in the background!!!! :-)

(I'm the one in the bottom left corner with the blue bandana on my head)

-Senior wills were tonight and they made me love tri-delta sooooo much more than I already did! They are basically when seniors give the underclassmen stuff that they dont need anymore, and some of the stuff was hilarious! For example, one of the seniors gave me a band-aid just in case I scratched myself in the face again, haha. Another one gave me a butler basketball themed wife beater that she used for the semi-formal, and I love it! Seniors that I didn't even think knew my name gave me stuff that related to me and what little experience they had with me, and it made me feel so happy :-)

That's all for now! Me and my bud Alan are going to the formal this Friday, and it is going to be so much fun! I'll probably post a blog about it afterwords :-)

Jarry Hotter

So before the championship SNUper Bowl game, I somehow scratched a large portion of my forehead by taking off a shirt. How it happened, I have no clue. But I do know that my fingernail was what scratched my forehead....all my sisters have been calling me Harry Potter or Jarry Hotter because I look like I have a scar on my head, and it is hilarious. Here are a few pics...
Me before the SNUperbowl championship game...probably right after I randomly injured myself
Me and my sis Rachel repping it up at Hinkle during a break from our activities at SSS

Me and my sis Lindsay show our tri-delta wounds...we BLEED tri-delta!!! haha

I don't know what I was doing here...it was probably 3 in the morning and I was still going to play dodgeball and ultimate frisbee...what a night!

Well maybe I should get back to that art project of mine that is due in about 4.5 hours, haha...then I have a semi-relaxing rest of the week school wise :-)

Life...

It has been a while since I have posted stuff, and it's because there has been so much stuff going on in my life these past few weeks! Let's start with BU basketball...

My flight got bumped on the way back from spring break, so I had to watch selection Sunday in a hotel room. I was pretty disappointed when I saw that we got a 7 seed...considering the fact that we only had three losses the entire season!!! Ah, the struggles of the little school...

Anyway, I couldn't make it to Birmingham for the USA game so I watched it in the Reilly Room and did an interview for WTHR and they made me look like a weirdo on tv, haha. More importantly, we kicked absolute booty and Pete went 8-10 from 3 point land...daaaaang!

I did go to Birmingham for the second game. Me and my friend Becca had to get up at 5:30 and drive there, and then drive back the same day. It was pretty exhausting, and very upsetting since we lost in overtime to Tennessee. I felt so bad for our poor seniors that fought so hard and missed the Sweet 16 by a layup or two!!! The reffing didn't help the situation either, but I'm not blaming the loss on the refs by any means. It was pretty cool to meet my mom and dad in B'Ham, but it was sad to say bye to them :-(

I'm stll pretty depressed that our season is over, so I've just withdrawn myself from ESPN and basketball completely lately.
The Seether concert was awesome though! It was the day before the Tennessee game and I loved every minute of it!!!

This past Friday was the Virgin Millionaires concert, and me and my friend Rachel were pretty stoked for that!!! Long story short, it was the hottest concert I have ever seen!

On Saturday was SNUperbowl, and I knew that Tri-Delta would kick butt! After beating Kappa Alpha Theta, Alpha Chi Omega, and Alpha Phi, we were champs!!!

Saturday night from 7 pm to 5:30 am I was playing sports for Spring Sports Spectacular. I had the most fun playing basketball, and me and my sister Anne won the rock climbing wall competition!!!

I am still completely drained from SSS though, and I'm gonna have a pretty tough school week, so I'll stop there. Basically my life right now is school, chililng with my sisters, and sleep, haha.

THIS JUST IN!!!

My roommate has just informed me that she is DONE with Butler and that I get the room all to myself for the rest of the semester!!!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

Oh, and also on the subject of rooms, me and my friend Kelli are rooming together in Res-Co 3B and we are pretty excited about it!!!

Hopefully I will be able to live in Tri-Delta my junior year. I'm looking forward to it all!!!

pics from semiformal 2-22-08

The theme was peace, love, and war...so I decided to be all of those things plus the letter "Z". Why the letter Z? Well, since people like to unnecessarily put the letter Z at the end of words like "love" and "bye" and I absolutely hate it, I decided to be that jerk that attached to other people's costumes...and it was fun playing anagrams as well! Below are a few pictures...
Me, Caitlin (top), and Rachel (right) on the bus to the bar

Me and Rebecca playing anagrams!

Me ruining their concept...not really haha

for every tri delt, every tri delt, has a weapon for a pin...

So I am finally initiated! That means that I am officially a member of the Delta class of the Delta Lambda chapter of Delta Delta Delta!!! Long, huh? I was really excited for this day for a while, so I decided to show off my poster outside of my room that I got on Bid Day and my paddle that I got from my awesome big sis tonight!!!

So yep, I'm a sorority girl! I'm breaking stereotypes one at a time...

first dawg blog

So I just decided to make this blog so it would be easier for Grandma to look up my pictures and what I am doing. Last Wednesday I did a photo shoot for Sporting News Magazine at Historic Hinkle Fieldhouse with a few of my fellow Dawg Pound members and fans from IU, Purdue, and Notre Dame. It kinda stunk because I had to get up and be all ready and painted by 8 in the morning (My earliest classes are at 9). It was a long and cold walk to Hinkle, but I was so excited about the shoot that I didn't even mind. When I got there I ran up to the bathroom and painted up. It was hilarious walking down the corridors of Hinkle all painted up at 8 AM and seeing people that were just coming in to work. The first shoot we did was for the Dawg Pound only. I really like the way this picture turned out. Jay, the photographer, told us to scream like we were at the game, so we actually screamed!

We then chose Jake, our Dawg Pound VP, to take some pictures with the fans from other schools. Here is a picture that I took of them fighting over a ball and growling, haha.

Later on they chose me to take some pictures with the fans from other schools. They told us to scream and open our eyes really big, so here is the end result!

There are more pictures on the way. Here is a picture that Jay took of me painting up at the Butler vs. Youngstown State game on February 14th.

The magazine comes out on either Wednesday or Thursday and you can get the magazine at Barnes & Noble!!!

Tonight is part two of my initiation into Delta Delta Delta and I am really excited to officially become a member!
